You must meet the following requirements to become a citizen of Canada:

• Be a permanent resident
• Have lived in Canada for three out of the last 5 years (1,095 days)
• Filing Income Tax
• Pass a citizenship test
• Language skills
• You must be at least 18 years old to apply

Applications for citizenship go through the entire application procedure in around a year.
