Super Visa

Grandparents and parents of Canadian Permanent Residents and Citizens are permitted to visit them in Canada for up to five years at a time*

The Super Visa allows for various entries into Canada for a period of up to ten years.

The following prerequisites must be met to qualify for the Super Visa:

  • The applicant must be the parent or grandparent of a person who is a Canadian permanent resident or citizen.
  • Have a signed letter from their child or grandchild in Canada inviting them to visit.
  • Have medical insurance from a Canadian insurance company with a minimum of $100,000 in coverage that is valid for at least a year after the applicant's entry into Canada.
