Family Class Sponsorship is a program that enables citizens and residents of Canada to bring their family members to live with them there. One of the three cornerstones of the Canadian immigration system is the family reunion. Regarding this, the sponsor must meet the following requirements:

A person who is a citizen of Canada or a permanent resident and resides or plans to reside in Canada.

A person who can provide for the sponsor's basic requirements and who does not receive social assistance for a condition other than a handicap.

A person must be above 18 years of age.
